Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas specials

About the show

A broad, studio-audience sitcom adapted from Brendan O'Carroll's live stage show, with O'Carroll in drag as Agnes Brown, the loud, proud and meddling mother of a Brown household in Finglas, Dublin, surrounded by her grown-up children, her best friend Winnie and a cast drawn largely from his own family. It began on BBC One in February 2011, and from that Christmas the specials took over: a festive episode every year, then from 2013 a pair each Christmas, one of them on Christmas Day. Loathed by critics and loved by audiences, it was the most-watched programme on Christmas Day in 2013 and 2014, and its corpsing and fourth-wall breaking have never changed.
