Our take
The most recent Christmas Day special is built around a family Christmas photo and another of the show's trademark trees. It is the familiar formula with a sentimental frame, a little gentler than most, and 3.15 million watched within a week. Fans of the trees get another one. Critics, again, did not come round, so expect the same split between those who love it and those who never will.
What happens
Agnes Brown rediscovers the meaning of family as she gathers those closest to her for a Christmas photo. Buster unveils another of his signature Christmas trees, with maximum impact, and Cathy frets about what presents to buy everyone.
Can the kids watch it?
Not classified by the BBFC; the show's other specials are almost all rated 15 for strong language, and the swearing and innuendo are the same here, so treat it as 15 and over.
