In the UK, most Hallmark Christmas films are on Hallmark TV, a channel you add to Amazon Prime Video for a separate monthly charge. It is not part of an ordinary Prime membership. One film in our first six, The Holiday Sitter, is free to stream with adverts on ITVX. We checked every route below on 29 September 2026, and we will re-check them before December.
Hallmark TV on Prime Video: what you are actually signing up for
Hallmark TV launched in the UK in August 2020 as Hallmark's own subscription service, and it lives inside Prime Video as one of Amazon's add-on channels. Amazon sells these channels as extra subscriptions that sit on top of your Prime or Prime Video membership, and it bills them separately.
So there are two different things that can look alike on the Prime Video home screen:
- Included with Prime. Films you can play with the membership you already pay for.
- Hallmark TV. Films that need the channel as well. On a film's Prime Video page the button reads "Watch with Hallmark TV", and the small print mentions a trial and a monthly renewal.
All five of our Hallmark TV picks sat behind that second button when we checked. None was included with Prime, and none was offered to rent or buy.
The channel's catalogue also changes. Films arrive for the season and leave again, so a title being on Hallmark TV in September is no promise that it will be there on Christmas Eve. That is why every film below carries the date we looked.
Ways to watch our first six
These are the films in our Hallmark collection, grouped the way the collection groups them. For each one we checked the film's own Prime Video UK page, and cross-checked it against JustWatch's UK listing.

Can I watch Hallmark Christmas films free in the UK?
Some of them, some of the time. When we checked, The Holiday Sitter was free with adverts on ITVX, and that is the only free route we could confirm for our six.
UK channels do show Hallmark-made Christmas films in the run-up to the holidays, but the schedules for this December are not out yet, and a film shown last year is not a promise for this one. We will only add a free-to-air listing here once a broadcaster has published it.
Hallmark TV in the UK and Hallmark+ in the US are different services
If you have read about Hallmark's Christmas season in American coverage, two things will not carry across.
Hallmark+ is not available here. It is Hallmark's own streaming service in the US, and its help pages say it works only in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and American Samoa. The UK equivalent is Hallmark TV on Prime Video, which has its own, smaller catalogue.
US premiere dates are not UK dates. Hallmark announces its new Christmas films with American air dates, starting in mid-October. Those dates are for Hallmark's US channels. There is no guarantee a new film reaches Hallmark TV in the UK the same week, the same month or the same year, so treat any date you see in US coverage as American until a UK page says otherwise.
Before you start a trial
Prime Video add-on channels sometimes come with a trial. Trials and prices change, so we do not print either. Before you sign up, it is worth five minutes on these:
- Check you already have what the channel sits on. Add-on channels are sold to Prime and Prime Video members. If you have neither, you are signing up for two things, not one.
- Read the current price and trial terms on Amazon's page itself, at the point you subscribe, rather than trusting a figure from an article, including this one.
- Check the film you want is still on the channel. Search for it in Prime Video and look for the "Watch with Hallmark TV" button on its own page.
- Note when the trial ends. Channels renew automatically. You can see and cancel add-ons under Memberships and Subscriptions in your Amazon account.
- Read Amazon's own help pages on add-on subscriptions if anything is unclear. They set out what the channels include and why they cost extra.
Questions people ask
Is Hallmark TV included with Amazon Prime? No. It is an add-on channel with its own monthly charge, on top of Prime or Prime Video.
Can I rent or buy these films instead? Not these six. When we checked, none was on sale or for rent on Prime Video UK, and JustWatch's UK listing showed no rent or buy options either.
Are Hallmark Christmas films suitable for children? Most are gentle, but only one of our six has a BBFC certificate. The rest have never been rated in the UK, and an unrated film is not the same as a U. Each film page has a line on who it suits, and we say plainly where there is no certificate.
Why don't you list every Hallmark Christmas film? Because we only list what we can check. Every film in the collection has a UK route we have checked and dated. We will add more as we check them.
