About the show
The American version of The Office ran on NBC from 2005 to 2013, a mockumentary about the staff of a paper company's branch in Scranton, Pennsylvania, adapted from the British original by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Its office Christmas parties became an annual fixture: a Secret Santa gone wrong, rival party committees, a themed party, a returning love interest and, finally, a Pennsylvania Dutch Christmas. Season 1 had no Christmas episode and the writers' strike cost season 4 its party, but the rest are among the show's best-loved episodes. In the UK it first aired on ITV2 from September 2006, listed as The Office: An American Workplace to tell it apart from the British series.
