Our take
Held back from the end of series three and saved for Christmas, this is the episode that brings in Bobby Ball as the hero's long-lost dad, and the casting is perfect: a pint-sized, shameless father whose every visit is a disaster. The festive theme is light and the story is really about a son and the man who walked out on him, but it gave the show one of its best recurring characters.
What happens
Lee's father, Frank, turns up at the flat unannounced. This is the man who walked out of the family home when Lee was four, never paid his maintenance and ate Lee's goldfish, and Lee wants him out of the flat. Lucy tells him that the only way forward is to forgive and forget. Unfortunately, Frank's behaviour makes that virtually impossible for Lee to achieve.
Can the kids watch it?
Rated 15 by the BBFC for strong language, nudity and frequent moderate sex references, so it is for older teenagers and adults.
