Christina Milianas LaylaAbout Meet Me Next Christmas
A year after a cancelled flight, a hopeless romantic is due to meet the charming stranger she fell for at a Pentatonix Christmas Eve concert, only to find she has no ticket and the show is sold out. With a hard-pressed concierge as her reluctant guide, she races around the city chasing every possible way into the gig, and starts to wonder whether the man she is looking for is the right one.
A Netflix romcom built around a gig, with Christmas Eve as the deadline.
Christina Milian carries it on charm, and the hunt for a sold-out ticket keeps things moving when the jokes run thin. Pentatonix play themselves with good humour, which is a plus if you already like them and a long night if you don't.
Critics were kinder than viewers here, and both have a point. You will guess the ending early. Made for Pentatonix fans with a soft spot for a cappella carols and modest expectations.
Can the kids watch?
Our take: teenagers will be fine with the sex references and language; there is nothing frightening and the ending is happy, though younger children will find little to hold them.
