Gavin & Stacey Christmas specials

About the show

A BBC sitcom written by James Corden and Ruth Jones about a long-distance romance between a young man from Essex and a young woman from Barry in south Wales, and the two noisy, loving families their match throws together. It began on BBC Three in May 2007, ran for three series to New Year's Day 2010, and moved to BBC One as its audience grew. Its Christmas specials are where it became a national habit: the 2008 special went out on Christmas Eve, the 2019 reunion was the most-watched comedy episode in years, and the 2024 finale, broadcast on Christmas Day, became the UK's most-watched scripted programme since records began in 2002.
