About the show

Jennifer Saunders's BBC sitcom about a self-absorbed London PR boss, her hard-living best friend, the sensible daughter who has to parent them both, a dry, light-fingered grandmother and a hopeless assistant. It began on BBC Two in November 1992, built on a French and Saunders sketch, and later moved to BBC One. After the regular series ended, its life carried on through specials, and the festive ones became a habit: a New York special on 27 December 2002, a Christmas Eve special in 2003, a Christmas Day special in 2004, and two 20th anniversary specials over Christmas 2011 and New Year's Day 2012.
