The story
Why it stays with you
A boy, a snowman and a can of IRN-BRU take a flight across Scotland in a mischievous twist on a Christmas screen favourite.
IRN-BRU takes the flying snowman story on a less sentimental journey. A boy's drink becomes the prize in a wintry trip across Scotland, with an ending that sends him down into Glasgow's George Square.
The original 2006 advert was directed by Robin Shaw, with animation by Sherbet for The Leith Agency. Its hand-drawn approach echoes the Christmas film it parodies, while the rewritten song supplies a distinctly cheeky mood.
The video linked here is the brand's later upload, labelled 2017 Edition and selected by IRN-BRU's own archive to represent the original campaign. It is separate from the Snowman sequel released in 2018.
Includes comic peril and a boy falling from the sky.
